The What About Us founding team are passionately committed to peace activism. We care about our planet, the people who live here, nature & animals, the environment, climate change, human rights, freedom of speech, disadvantaged people, and war refugees. And lots more. We fight for the underdog, the poor and those without a voice and we challenge all forms of corruption and exploitation of the planet and the people living on it.
We believe in Peace not War, Love not Hate and support initiatives with the same beliefs. If a fraction of the trillions spent each year on arms, armies, weapons that kill & maim, tanks, fighter jets, nuclear weapons, battleships was instead invested into community driven peace related projects the world would be a healthier, happier, and wealthier place for everyone.
Our theme Peace not War connected us with the Irish post-war challenges and brought us to Israel and Palestine, leading to the current creative focus which is “What About Us”, the musical.
A documentary about the making of the musical is being filmed by the Award-winning team of Ben Kavanagh (Director) and Malcolm Willis (Producer)
The film will explore how young people, including from refugee camps, can overcome religion, conflict, hatred, and cultural differences to produce a world class musical, against the odds and despite the challenges.
The film team are following young artists that will be performing in the What About Us musical, including musicians currently living in refugee camps – from a life without hope to the world stage.
Below is a sizzle reel for the film which includes all original music.
